Quotable figures
Reuse as-is, crediting "source: Mansard Observatory".
- « The majored rent-control ceiling ranges from €13 to €28/m²/month by commune. »
- « In Lille, estimated market rent exceeds the rent-control ceiling by 7.7%. »
- « The median headroom between the ceiling and estimated market rent is 10.7%. »
Methodology
Majored rent-control ceilings are taken from the préfectoral orders in force (2025–2026) for each commune in a rent-control zone.
Market rent is estimated from the commune's DVF median sale price, multiplied by a documented gross rental yield specific to each city, divided by twelve. The yield used appears in the edition table.
This is a modelled estimate, aggregated at commune level — not a survey of individual listings. Later editions will incorporate observed inventory. Figures should not be extrapolated beyond the studied scope.
